Origin: Persian, Bidjar region or surrounding villages (such as Zanjan) in Western Iran.
Pattern: Royal Mahi (Herati) design with a central medallion and ivory spandrels.
Weaving: Entirely hand-knotted, heavy and robust structure on a cotton warp and weft.
Overall condition: in very good condition, noting a small 1 cm2 missing area visible up close but which blends in relatively well with the density of the complex Mahi patterns once the rug is laid on the floor.
